What this service covers
An interim service is a focused maintenance booking intended for vehicles that need routine checks and service work between more comprehensive intervals. It can suit high-mileage drivers, working vans and fleet vehicles where usage means waiting for a longer service interval is not appropriate.
When this service is useful
The booking is useful when a vehicle has covered significant mileage since its last service, is used for frequent short journeys or commercial work, or needs a documented maintenance checkpoint before the next full service. The final checklist is vehicle-specific and is confirmed when the booking is reviewed.
What to have ready before booking
Provide the registration, current mileage, approximate date or mileage of the previous service, any warning lights and any concerns noticed by the driver. Fleet contacts should include cost-centre and authorisation details where their account requires them.
How Humber Tyre & Rescue handles the booking
Humber Assist records the booking, requested date and vehicle details, then staff review availability and the appropriate service location. Once confirmed, the work can be linked to a job card and later to maintenance history, future due dates and invoices.
Assessment, authorisation and quality control
The scope is agreed before work begins. If inspection identifies a separate repair requirement, it should be quoted and authorised rather than being assumed to form part of the interim service. This keeps the planned service clear for both retail and fleet customers.
Fleet and commercial use
For fleets, interim servicing can be used as part of a preventive maintenance plan for vehicles that accumulate mileage quickly. Fleet 360 can retain mileage, due dates, previous work and account approval rules against each registration.
Book or request help
Use Book Service and choose Interim Service. If you are unsure whether interim, full or major servicing is the right level, send the vehicle, mileage and service-history details and the team can review the request before confirming it.
