Know more before you buy

Humber Tyre & Rescue provides independent, non-invasive pre-purchase vehicle inspections at the seller or dealer location where access and permission allow. Choose Basic, Comprehensive or Advanced depending on the vehicle, value and depth of evidence you want.

Three inspection levels

Basic — from £119: identity, visible condition, key fluids and controls, tyres, basic mechanical observations and road test where safe and authorised.

Comprehensive — from £189: broader body, interior, visible structure, underbody, brakes, steering, suspension, driveline, electrics, tyres, photographs and an extended road-test assessment.

Advanced — from £269: Comprehensive scope plus diagnostic scan/report where supported, battery/charging measurements and additional condition testing.

What the report means

The inspection records what can reasonably be observed on the day. It is not a guarantee of future reliability and cannot expose every concealed, intermittent or developing fault. Where something needs specialist investigation, the report says so rather than guessing.

Areas

Mobile inspections can be arranged around Hull, Beverley, Hessle, Cottingham, Brough, Barton-upon-Humber, Brigg, Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Cleethorpes and surrounding East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire areas, subject to availability and travel.

Common questions

Which pre-purchase inspection level should I choose?

Basic is an essential independent condition review. Comprehensive adds deeper body, underbody, mechanical, electrical and photographic checks. Advanced is the most detailed Humber level and adds diagnostic-supported reporting and measured condition checks where the vehicle and equipment permit.

Does a pre-purchase inspection guarantee the vehicle has no faults?

No. It records the condition and evidence that can reasonably be observed during a non-destructive inspection on the day. Hidden, intermittent or future faults can still exist, and access or seller restrictions are recorded as limitations.

Can you road test and scan the vehicle?

A road test is carried out only where it is safe, legal, insured and authorised. Humber Advanced includes diagnostic-port checks where technically supported and authorised; diagnostic codes are treated as evidence rather than automatic proof that a part requires replacement.
